Alfa Romeo Concepts Sports Cars Recreations Geneva Motor Show
Graphic representation of the Alfa Romeo 4C

The Italian magazine Auto has published, in its March issue, a representation of the Alfa Romeo 4C, together with official confirmation that Alfa will present the model in Geneva and that production of the model will begin in 2012.
Among other details that many had probably already imagined, the new 4C will feature a mid-mounted engine, rear-wheel drive and a design that recalls, somewhat, that of other past Alfa models, such as the Giulietta Spider and Sprint, without losing sight of the 8C. And speaking of performance, it is said that the 4C will go head-to-head with sports cars that sit above anything Alfa has offered until now. Something unthinkable for the Grupo Fiat until very recently.
As is known, it will share the carbon fibre platform designed by Dallara, although when it comes to engines we remain shrouded in mystery. There is talk of the 1.8 turbo engine (1750 TBI) that powers the Giulietta in its Quadrifoglio Verde version, producing 235 horsepower. According to Auto, a top speed of 250 km/h and an acceleration of under 5 seconds are guaranteed.
The 4C would also have a roadster version and, as the grand finale, a special Abarth model that will arrive shortly after the official launch.
