A few hours remain before Mercedes makes public the look and features of the Mercedes AMG GT R, the top of the AMG range, but the first images of the car have already been leaked thanks to a German forum. Images we can see and which have left us surprised. The car is aimed at those who want a car in the class of the McLaren 675LT and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The engine of this car, a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, allows it to exceed the power of the AMG GT S, reaching 577 CV and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. This, of course, according to the outlet that leaked the news, because there is still a little while before we learn the information coming from the brand itself.

What we know for now is that the engine will allow it to shave a little off the acceleration time of the Mercedes AMG GT S, also improving aspects such as top speed. In addition, it will also weigh less than its sibling, as it uses carbon fibre to shape the bodywork and other design elements. Considering that the AMG GT S weighs 1,645 kilos, we will have a very adequate performance, since greater power is combined with a weight reduction. In other words, its power-to-weight ratio will increase.

Under the bodywork you will be able to enjoy new suspensions, better brakes and a tighter steering. The rear spoiler is included in the aerodynamic kit that gives it a very attractive and dynamic look. Everything is tuned so that it is fully functional on track, where it seems it will have its natural habitat.

From this habitat it also inherits the front grille, which reminds us of a racing car from the 1950s. All of this comes wrapped, in the leaked images, in a striking green colour called AMG Green Hell Magno, to complete a striking look. Will the data we have be confirmed? In a few hours, we will know.
