Half of drivers in Great Britain suffer from a lack of confidence and panic when driving

A recent study carried out in Great Britain revealed that nearly half of active drivers are experiencing isolated losses of confidence when driving in different conditions. Some do not feel safe driving in heavy traffic, while other cases of lost confidence occur when driving at speed on motorways. Revealingly, almost all drivers with this problem have stopped driving for more or less extended periods of time for various reasons, mostly related to accidents.
And this is worth mentioning because anyone who has ever had an accident or a “narrow escape” usually suffers moments of insecurity at the wheel, a kind of fleeting mental block in which we are not sure of what we are doing behind the wheel. It also affects those who suffer intense stress and have to drive for several hours a day.
I am referring to the following situation: following an accident I had years ago, I did not drive for almost two months. Sitting in a car gave me chills and tremors, an aftereffect of a quite spectacular (almost rollover) and unexpected crash that left that aftereffect. It takes willpower and a great deal of relaxation to feel that “we won’t crash again.”
Have you ever felt like this, or have you had moments of insecurity behind the wheel?
