Have you ever seen a ten-tonne truck fly at 140 km/h?
Eduard Nikolaev, driver of the Team Kamaz Master, has pulled off a spectacular jump with the truck with which he won this year’s Dakar.
The truck category of the Dakar Rally is one of the most spectacular motorsport competitions there is, and if you don’t believe it, watch the following video. In it you can see driver Eduard Nikolaev performing a two-metre jump in the truck with which he was crowned winner of the Dakar earlier this year.
A jump covering 30 metres at 140 km/h

This is undoubtedly a truck that defies the laws of physics. In this video, filmed in Russia, the vehicle reached 140 km/h at the moment of the jump and travelled a total of 30 metres without touching the ground. Other interesting figures from the sequence include the suspension travel of this truck (30 cm) and the g-force reached during the flight (12 G).
“Terminator”: a ten-tonne truck with 1,000 CV of power

The scene in this video is part of the tuning process the truck of the Team Kamaz Master is undergoing. The so-called “Terminator” is a vehicle weighing more than ten tonnes that incorporates a 16-litre V8 engine producing 1,000 CV of power.
Eduard Nikolaev: two-time Dakar Truck champion

The driver who performed this colossal stunt, Eduard Nikolaev, has demonstrated his mastery after winning the Dakar twice with the Team Kamaz Master (2013 and 2017), in addition to a victory at the Silk Way Rally.
“To test the truck we went to Kirovsk, in the Murmansk region, one of the areas of Russia with the most snow. For our Kamaz-4326, these deep-snow conditions are similar to the sand of South America or Africa,” Nikolaev said.
Now that they have verified the truck can handle extreme conditions, they are ready to head to Moscow’s Red Square on 7 July, where they will set off on a 9,500 km route starting in Russia, continuing through Kazakhstan and ending in China.
