Hennessey congratulates Bugatti on its top speed record and says it will reach 500 km/h
Hennessey has congratulated Bugatti on its record and has revealed what may be its future intentions. Will it break the 500 km/h mark?

Recently, a modified prototype of the Bugatti Chiron reached a record speed of 490.484 km/h, and now Hennessey Performance has wanted to congratulate the French car manufacturer through its Instagram account while issuing a statement of intent.
Over the last 12 months or so, car manufacturers such as Hennessey and Koenigsegg have been suggesting that they will seek to break the 500 km/h barrier, as it seems Bugatti was not interested in pursuing a new top speed record for production cars.

Now, with the French car brand taking the initiative, although the Bugatti Chiron prototype was not a production model, at least not yet, Hennessey has assured that it wants to become the first to reach 500 km/h. The Texas tuner turned car manufacturer has been developing its next Hennessey Venom F5 for quite some time and seems confident that it can surpass the speed recorded by its French rival.
The Hennessey Venom F5 will be backed by a lightweight and strong carbon fibre chassis. It is powered by a 7.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that delivers 1600 CV and 1760 Nm of torque. Hennessey also promises that its Venom F5 will be an absolute beast off the line and will be capable of reaching 300 km/h in less than ten seconds.
Hennessey Venom F5, will it achieve the feat and surpass the Bugatti Chiron?
As Bugatti recorded a top speed of 490 km/h with the new prototype of the Bugatti Chiron in a single run, it does not qualify for a Guinness World Record, as that would require a two-way average to be published. Furthermore, the Chiron prototype is not a production model, but rather a ‘near-production prototype’. It is speculated that the French luxury brand could unveil the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport in the coming weeks. Perhaps during the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Hennessey Venom F5 was presented at the recent Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach as an absolutely radical and powerful car. A loud, light and beautiful supercar that hides a V8 engine producing no less than 1,600 CV of power. Hennessey intends to break several records with this new model, and to be honest, we have no reason to think it won’t achieve it.

The Hennessey Venom F5 has surprised the motoring world with its incredible design and with what was promised to be impressive performance. The Texan manufacturer intends to break speed records with its new “toy”. At Monterey Car Week during the Pebble Beach festival we have finally been able to learn the details of its impressive engine and honestly we could not be more surprised.
One of the company’s main motivations has always been to be the first road car capable of reaching the coveted 300 mph, that is, 482 km/h, a round number that delights adrenaline and speed addicts, although, of course, such a feat can only be tested on straights such as the one at the Nürburgring circuit. With these new figures the Texan manufacturer claims it will break speed records in 2019. Only 24 units will be built of this monstrous hypercar. It weighs 1,338 kg and will reach 300 km/h in under 10 seconds.
