Volkswagen Compact Curiosities
House inspired by the unforgettable VW Beetle

The beloved Beetle remains firmly rooted in the hearts of enthusiasts because the performance it offered for its era (speaking on a mass-market level) completely exceeded expectations and has stood the test of time, qualities that are not seen today in any other model.
And one of the many owners who could not leave their beloved car in their memories asked an architect to transform his old house into a monument that expressed his affection for the German compact.
With a clear goal, architect Markus Voglreiter designed a home that not only attracts the gaze of the people of Salzburg, Austria, but also of the entire community of admirers of the original VW Beetle.
The owner says the project started several years ago and by 2003 the house was already finished, but they had to wait until 2010 to enjoy their dream in its full scope.
Now they proudly present to society a restaurant located north of the same city, whose value is estimated at 1.6 million euros.
