Before we start, it is important to point out that you can always pay your fines through the official DGT web portal, or you can also do it in person at the banks available that appear on the fine notice itself.

There is the option of calling 060, a phone line that the DGT has made available to process fines and all kinds of matters related to your vehicle. This option therefore makes it possible, wherever you are, to use our mobile phone or smartphone and solve our problem.

The first step is to make sure you are identified. Only in cases where the agents stop us and identify us, in order to issue a fine accordingly, may we not have to take this step. In the rest of cases, however, it is enough to access the DGT website and change to the identified driver in question.

Once this step is done, the following ones are very simple:

Dial 060. When you dial the phone number 060 we access the telephone service of the State Public Administration of Spain, where many other procedures can be carried out, beyond paying traffic fines and those offered by the DGT.

The first thing we will hear is a recorded message asking which procedure we want to carry out. At that point, we can say “pay traffic fine”, which will connect us directly to the DGT fine payment service.

A new recording will then ask us for the data needed to pay the traffic fine, starting with the fine’s file number, followed by the payment details, the details of our credit or debit card. Once entered, the payment will be processed.
