The Korean brand Hyundai is making huge strides every day. Thanks to a transformation process through which the brand aims to resemble its European rivals.

It now wants to reach a younger audience with a new crossover based on its city car, the i20, which takes on a very attractive look in its new version i20 Active.

Life is action, it is movement. Hyundai knows this, and its new compact crossover, the i20 Active, is ready for it. It differs from its sibling, the i20, by offering a more rugged look and qualities, better prepared for adventure. A simple glance at its bodywork confirms this:

A spoiler on the tailgate, perfectly integrated and including the third brake light, together with larger bumpers with plastic protectors, gives a much more adventurous appearance. Also noteworthy are the chrome door handles, the electrically folding mirrors, or the wheel arches finished in textured black plastic, as well as the front headlights with projectors and LED technology for the daytime running and position lights.

The interior also changes its look, improving its equipment with a range of features that make life on board more comfortable, easy and pleasant. Highlights include the heated seats and steering wheel, the latter also with built-in controls for operating the audio system.

The navigation system TomTom LIVE Services is perfectly integrated and is handled with ease through a 7″ colour touchscreen. The refrigerated glovebox helps keep drinks at the right temperature, something to appreciate on the toughest adventures. The keyless entry and start system is also very practical, making everyday tasks easier. The interior also stands out for its variable load capacity, which can reach up to 1,042 litres of space.

For the i20 Active, Hyundai has developed a new state-of-the-art petrol engine, called the 1.0 T-GDI, available in two versions of 100 and 120 CV. It is a small engine with great performance which, thanks to technical advances such as the electric discharge valve and an integrated cooling system, achieves very low consumption figures. The more powerful variant is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

In terms of safety, the i20 Active does not fall behind, incorporating all kinds of systems such as tyre pressure monitoring (TPMS), a lane change warning system (LDWS), side turn lights (SBL), a rear camera and 6 airbags, as well as ESP and ABS as standard.
