New engine for the Mazda3: 1.5 litres and 103 CV for the brand's mid-size model

2016-mazda3-1The Mazda3 debuts a new engine, joining those already available in both the saloon and hatchback versions. This engine is a 1.5-litre unit, with features that make it a very efficient powertrain and allow the model to achieve a considerable 103 CV, more than enough for this type of road car.

Designed to meet the Euro 6 standard, the Mazda3’s new engine manages to reduce consumption to 3.8 litres per 100 km. Emissions are limited to 99 grams per kilometre, delivering very well-balanced performance, something most car users and future buyers of this type of car are looking for.

This engine comes from other models in the brand, such as the Mazda2 and the CX-3 SUV, and was already operational in the United Kingdom, although it now reaches the rest of Europe. The engine will not be the only new element of the car, so we will have a new version that also features updated styling and equipment.

The new Mazda3 will also feature styling and equipment improvements

This new version will come with 17-inch dark alloy wheels, with an aerodynamic kit, although for now it is only available as an option on the British version of the model. Inside, we will find black upholstery, half leather and half suede, covering the seats. There is also a DAB radio, plus a rear camera and rear seat elevators, although only on the higher-end models in the range.

Standard across all versions is a seven-inch touchscreen and safety features such as Forward Obstruction Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Mazda Radar Cruise Control and Smart City Brake Support, all designed to help avoid accidents and assist the driver during journeys.
