Hyundai New Universe, the definitive mobile office debuting in South Korea
This bus, designed by Hyundai, has been created to offer mobile workspaces for those business trips where work must go on.

Working outside the office has become something that is here to stay. But not only at home. There are also times when you have to travel and keep working. It is not unusual to see buses fitted out for business trips, but the novelty lies in preparing these vehicles so that occupants can keep working while on the move. The Hyundai New Universe is a bus conceived as a mobile office for getting to any destination.
This unit, which is set to become a production model shortly, has been fitted with work areas so that occupants can work comfortably while travelling and advance their projects. It is built on an existing Universe bus, so what changes is the bus’s interior structure.

Space for up to 13 passengers
The Hyundai New Universe has room for up to 13 occupants. Seating configurations are: 10 seats; 12 seats; 13 seats (12+1); another with 13 seats (12+1) with a collaborative workspace at the front; 13 seats (12+1) with an enlarged office space, or 13 seats (11+1+1) with an individual workspace.

The unit shown in this demonstration has three distinct zones. The rear is occupied by a space designed as a meeting area. It features a video conferencing zone, with a folding central table and seats around it in the form of sofas.
The central section is taken up by individual seats with space for personal work. At the front there is a large screen offering the possibility of receiving information and everything they need thanks to the internet connection. The individual spaces have everything necessary to enjoy a comfortable workspace, from window blinds and personal storage to retractable trays and other amenities. It is like an executive seat on a business class flight, but on a bus.
As for the engine, it is expected to retain all the characteristics of the Universe bus already in service. This would mean an engine of between 9.9 and 12.7 litres, with a power output of up to 380 CV and a maximum torque of 1,568 Nm. For the time being this model will only be in service in South Korea, although it is expected to reach other markets where Hyundai buses are already available.
