Hyundai RN22e and N Vision 74: the latest concepts from the Korean brand unveiled
The latest news from Hyundai are the N Vision 74, a concept car inspired by a 1974 Pony Coupé that was never sold, and the RN22e, an IONIQ 6 with 585 CV

To celebrate N Day this Friday, 15 July, Hyundai has just presented a series of new developments created with a clear focus on performance, led by two concept cars that look spectacular, and it has also confirmed the arrival of an IONIQ 5 N, of which we will soon learn more details.
With this major announcement from the Korean brand, let us start with the Hyundai N Vision 74, a retro-looking and very sporty concept inspired by a 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupé that never saw the light of day. It features a huge rear spoiler, fully faired white wheels, large aerodynamic intakes and a brutal presence.

Betting on hydrogen
Setting aside its design, the big news with this concept is that its electric propulsion system, powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, produces no less than 680 CV and 900 Nm of peak torque. It will also be rear-wheel drive, a two-seater and, according to Hyundai, capable of covering more than 600 kilometres on a single charge.
Hyundai has also presented the Hyundai RN22e, a 100% electric sports car based on the recently unveiled IONIQ 6, which, let us remember, uses the E-GMP platform. According to the brand, it will feature a 77.4 kWh battery and produce 585 CV, the same output as the KIA EV6 GT, so everything points to the two sharing many mechanical components.

Following in the footsteps of its siblings
Hyundai’s N division is responsible for squeezing every last drop of sportiness from its models, as we have seen in others such as the i20 N, the i30 N or the Hyundai Kona N. This concept, on which the IONIQ 6 N will most likely be based, should therefore offer fantastic sporting behaviour thanks to improvements in aerodynamics, weight, chassis tuning and brakes, since the Korean sports car debuts a four-piston braking system. Hyundai has also placed great emphasis on its new torque-vectoring transmission, which will allow it to exit corners making the most of every last millisecond.
With all this, Hyundai has only officially confirmed the arrival of an IONIQ 5 N, as we have already noted, so we will have to wait to see whether these N-signed sports concepts will finally reach production. The arrival of an IONIQ 6 N is quite appealing and realistic, although for the N Vision 74 the path to production looks more difficult; still, anything can happen.
