Hyundai Sonata Hybrid price revealed

Last year we couldn’t say much about the hybrid version of the Hyundai Sonata for obvious reasons, but time has passed and now we are pleased to share relevant information about the South Korean saloon.

The standard version of the car can be purchased for 19,975 euros, while the premium model will cost 23,737 euros (both prices converted at the exchange rate), although the difference is only visible in the aesthetic extras inside.

Mechanically, then, the two versions share a common base, as the models will use a 2.4-litre Theta II engine producing 169 horsepower (mated to a six-speed gearbox), which works together with an electric motor that raises the output to 209 CV, so the performance figures have nothing to envy from the combustion version.

It is also confirmed that the economy holds high levels of satisfaction, as it averages 6.27 l/100 km of consumption.

I must clarify that the prices mentioned are intended for the North American market, which is why I looked for information on a possible launch in the Old Continent, but I had no luck, so we will have to wait and see how Hyundai proceeds in 2011.
