If you are a fan of classic Porsche cars, you should know the first Spanish Porsche Classic Partner.

Porsche says that 80% of its two-door sports cars produced since the late 1940s are still on the road, driven on roads all over the world. The truth is that this figure delights any motoring enthusiast. The German brand continues to claim that this is due to two reasons: the quality and reliability of its vehicles and, also, the attention, passion and professionalism of Porsche’s specialists in caring for the models during their various service intervals.

From my point of view, the Stuttgart brand may well be right on both counts, but it should also state that anyone who owns a car of this kind does not usually “play bumper cars” with it.

As Ferdinand Porsche used to say, “we need our past to create the future.” That is why, among several other reasons, the Porsche Barcelona Centre has just obtained the “Classic Partner” certification, becoming the first in Spain.

This means that the Barcelona dealership is fully specialised in classic vehicles of the brand; that is, all those models that were discontinued more than 10 years ago. All Porsche workshops have access to instructions and have the tools needed to work on the brand’s older models, but Classic Partner centres have received courses and exhaustive training on them, which should translate into a better service.

In the case of the Porsche Barcelona Centre, two mechanics, a workshop manager, a technical advisor and a parts manager have received all the training necessary to earn the dealership its accreditation as a Classic Partner from Porsche AG.

During the dealership’s presentation day, several classic units of the brand of high value were on display, some from the 1950s, shortly after the brand’s birth as such.
