In April, Vive la moto: 11 years later, Madrid revives El Gran Salón de la Moto

Motorcycles are once again taking center stage in Madrid. From 5 to 8 April, Madrid revives its Gran Salón de la Moto, featuring all the latest novelties and offers on the market.

After 11 years of absence, Madrid is bringing back the Motorcycle Show. Under the motto “Vive la Moto”, Ifema organises, in collaboration with Kando and Anesdor, VIVE LA MOTO, the Gran Salón de la Moto de Madrid, which has already confirmed the attendance of more than 100 exhibitors and 500 brands that will cover 16,000 m2 of exhibition space and nearly 5,000 m2 of outdoor test and demonstration areas, where visitors to the show can enjoy the experience of living motorcycling in its purest form.

Since 2007, the year the crisis began, the Gran Salón de la Moto had not been held in Madrid. Now, thanks to a more favourable commercial environment and with the market growing at a pace of 29 percent at the start of 2018 (+23.9 percent in the Community of Madrid), motorcycling is experiencing one of the best moments in its history.

Practically disappeared during the crisis years, the motorcycle market is now recovering much of what was lost since 2007, especially now that the great majority of brands have overcome the hard setback that the Euro 4 stage meant for a sector in depression, when all manufacturers were forced to update the engines of their models to comply with the demanding emission and consumption limits that the EU imposes on vehicles powered by internal combustion engines.

Ifema, Kando and Anesdor have managed to bring together at the Feria de Madrid exhibition grounds more than 96 percent of the brands that make up the motorcycle sector in Spain, guaranteeing high-level content of interest for the enthusiasts and visitors who attend from 5 to 8 April, to visit the exhibition and enjoy all the display areas and activities that the various brands present have organised outdoors, between halls 12 and 14 of the exhibition grounds.

“Millions of citizens use the motorcycle as their usual means of transport, mainly for mobility reasons, as it reduces traffic congestion and, at the same time, makes a substantial contribution to improving air quality,” says José María Riaño.

The latest arrivals on the market of super sports bikes of more than 200 CV will share the stage with more than 100 new models that the brands present will unveil during the days of the show, which in the future will be held in even-numbered years and which plans to become the reference event for the motorcycle sector in our country.
