In Barcelona, electric vehicles will be allowed to use the BUS/VAO lane

In Barcelona they are going to allow electric cars to use the BUS/VAO lane in order to encourage the use of this type of vehicle. To drive in this lane, which will come into operation next Monday, you will need a sticker to identify you.

The truth is that owning an electric car is a real advantage. I never tire of saying it, really. And when I say it, everyone looks at me skeptically, thinking “this guy is crazy.” I don’t know, maybe I am… But the savings are significant, minimal maintenance, zero pollution and, recharging, which simply becomes a daily habit, or a break to have a coffee.

Barcelona is one of the Spanish cities that is working hardest in this area, with the installation, for example, of many charging stations. Another novelty that they are going to put into operation is the use of the new VUS/VAO lane which, at a cost of 80 million euros, will open next week to connect Avenida Meridiana in Barcelona with Ripollet.

And you may be wondering what this lane has to do with electric cars… Well, it can be used by all electric cars, which will attract many more people to buying this type of car. They will share the lane with taxis, buses or vehicles with three or more occupants, thereby reducing traffic both on the road and in the city centre.

The goal of the Catalan capital is none other than to increase sales and use of electric cars, as well as to promote car sharing. By the way, if you are thinking of getting an electric car for this reason or already have one, you must request a sticker to identify yourself.
