Inkas unveils a new project: the armoured Cadillac Escalade

The company specialising in armoured versions of production models has worked on the Cadillac Escalade to fit it with very effective armour.

Armoured vehicles protect their occupants from gunfire and even grenade attacks. But the fact that they offer very high levels of protection and withstand the most impressive impacts does not mean they cannot be comfortable to travel in. Inkas is a company specialising in this type of vehicle and has presented its version of the Cadillac Escalade, now with armour.

The Cadillac Escalade is a vehicle designed for travelling in comfort, and this armoured version does not forget that. The equipment is as complete as in the production model, so the occupants will not only be safe from a variety of attacks, but will also enjoy all the comforts they already know from this model.

To achieve that exclusive touch, the Chairman package has been used, which adds even more comfort. The rear seats are captain’s chairs, so the two occupants travel even more comfortably. They feature massage and climate control systems to ensure the highest level of comfort. Facing these seats are two smaller ones, positioned opposite them.

The roof is slightly raised to provide more headroom and, at the same time, accommodate the roof armour. A lighting system that imitates natural light has been fitted, helping the occupants feel more comfortable on board. In front of them, a television screen has been installed, which hides away and deploys during the journey, should they wish to use it.

Electrically folding tables have also been added, controllable from the rear centre console. The rear compartment is separated from the front by a transparent panel, also bulletproof. At the front, the original seats and the design of the front elements have been retained.

On the exterior, there is not much difference from the production Escalade, although the usual safety elements such as emergency lights have been incorporated. As for the armour, Inkas states that this variant will withstand assault rifle fire of 7.62 mm and even resist the simultaneous detonation of two DM51 hand grenades under the vehicle.
