Intelligent Emotion: Audi's bet for the mobility of the future

Students from the Munich University of Applied Sciences, supported by Audi, have developed several ideas to solve future mobility problems, from a hybrid supercar to an alternative concept for lightweight interior design. The results are presented in eleven forward-looking conceptual studies.
With the Intelligent Emotion project, Audi aims to encourage students, who will be the workforce of the future, to seek new approaches to the future of passenger transport.
One of the goals of the design project was to present Audi as a sporty premium brand and a pioneer in technology and design. The balance between innovation and brand recognition had to be expressed in a product with a strong emotional character in its aesthetics, which also meets the demands of society.
From Audi it is stated that the results obtained are exactly what the German brand was really looking for, as seen in the statements of Wolfgang Egger, Director of Audi Group Design:
The results are brilliant. The students have tackled the issue of future mobility with highly elaborate approaches and brilliantly presented. Each concept, each model, contains at least one idea or feature that we could genuinely conceive as something applicable to a future production car.
Egger explains that the involvement of Audi with the students was necessary to channel the full flow of ideas:
Emotion as a driving force must go hand in hand with the responsibility of the regulator. The students’ mission was to develop aesthetic approaches that reflected the new ecological, technical and social trends and needs, while guaranteeing Audi’s image as a brand of attractive and sporty cars. The results have a high creative quality and provide a great deal of substance for future stylistic debates.
