Interior and technical data of the new Kia Sportage revealed

Following the official release of the first images of the new generation of the Kia Sportage, the brand has now published new data.
The technical data for the new model is starting to emerge, as well as the first photographs of its interior, which reveals a major step forward compared to its predecessor.
The Kia Sportage is now in its fourth generation, and the first exterior images of the revamped Korean SUV were released just a few days ago, when we told you that the changes had turned this compact crossover into a very attractive alternative to the segment’s leading models.
Now, Kia is offering new images showing the interior of the Sportage. The first impression is clear: the Sportage has improved considerably over its predecessor. The overall lines are similar to those found in the interiors of the brand’s latest creations, such as the new Sorento or the new generation of the Optima.

Divided into two levels, the Sportage’s dashboard features a large central touchscreen that will be used to control most of the vehicle’s entertainment and information functions. The centre console looks better than before, and its layout is more practical and orderly.
The materials used give an impression of quality, something that extends to the fit and finish—at least visually—of the various parts, with very small gaps between them.
Technically, the Sportage is now longer (by 40 mm) and its wheelbase has increased by 30 mm. Its drag coefficient also improves, dropping from a Cd of 0.35 to 0.33. Mechanically, the Sportage will use a 1.6 GDi petrol engine that delivers 132 CV in its naturally aspirated version, while the turbocharged variant offers 177 CV.

On the diesel side, as we previewed a few days ago, Kia will offer the 1.7 CRDi engine with 115 CV, as well as a 2.0 CRDi in two power outputs, with 136 CV/373 Nm and 184 CV/400 Nm. Versions with non-permanent all-wheel drive will be offered, along with 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes and a new 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
