A few days ago Ford announced that the concept of the same name presented at this year’s Detroit Motor Show (whose design was apparently being copied by a Chinese company) is ready to enter production, and to the delight of enthusiasts, one of its first prototypes was spotted on the streets of Michigan (United States).

The SUV is described by Ford’s executive vice president, Mark Fields, as a car that offers:

The comfort of a luxury saloon, the spaciousness and flexibility of an SUV, and the performance of a sports car.

Known internally within the company as code D472, it should arrive with a 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine producing 340 hp, and a smaller model with 270 hp. Production is also expected to begin next summer at the Oakville, Ontario (Canada) plant.
