Jaguar E-PACE 2019: now with new 200 CV petrol engine

The Jaguar E-PACE gets a new 2.0-litre, 200 CV petrol engine that offers more economical consumption than the rest of the versions.

The Jaguar E-PACE went on sale at the end of 2017 and has already become the best-selling model of the brand in our country, with 772 units registered in 2018. The British firm’s compact SUV now receives several updates to keep growing in one of the most competitive segments of the market. The 2019 Jaguar E-PACE will feature a new 200 CV petrol engine, artificial intelligence technology that anticipates the driver’s needs, and a suspension configuration that improves its driving dynamics. Orders for the new Jaguar E-PACE can already be placed, with a starting price of €37,450.

2.0-litre 200 CV petrol engine: efficient and economical

The new Jaguar E-PACE features a new 2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 200 CV of power. This is an engine block the compact SUV already offered (with outputs of 250 CV and 300 CV), but the latest version of this powertrain offers more restrained consumption (8.2 litres per 100 km) and not inconsiderable performance: the SUV goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds with this engine.

As with the rest of the engines in the range, the new E-PACE powertrain incorporates a twin-scroll turbocharger and a continuously variable valve timing system that modifies the lift and duration of the cylinder valves to improve engine breathing at any speed, which translates into better performance and efficiency.

We remind you that the E-PACE engine range is configured as follows:

• 4-cylinder, 2-litre Ingenium petrol engines: available in 200 CV, 250 CV and 300 CV versions.
• 4-cylinder, 2-litre Ingenium diesel engines: available in 150 CV, 180 CV and 240 CV versions.

Another major novelty in the new Jaguar E-PACE engine range is that all powertrains now come equipped with particulate filters to further reduce emissions into the atmosphere.

Smart Settings: the artificial intelligence that remembers your habits

The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace incorporates a new artificial intelligence system called Smart Settings. This active learning technology was already presented in the electric SUV from Jaguar, the I-PACE, and memorises the driver’s habits to anticipate their needs.

The Smart Settings system recognises the driver based on the key and the Bluetooth signal from the smartphone. Once the person behind the wheel is recognised, the system adjusts the seat, the temperature or the infotainment settings according to the driver’s habits. Moreover, these adjustments are made predictively, since it takes into account factors such as time of day, location, weather or certain behaviour patterns to anticipate your needs; for example, the car will pre-heat the seats on a cold day.

Smart Settings is part of the Connect Pro Pack, which also includes a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, Pro Services (real-time traffic information, Street View, parking availability…) and a navigation system.

Adaptive Dynamics: improved driving dynamics in real time

Another major novelty of the 2019 Jaguar E-PACE is the Adaptive Dynamics system. This continuously variable damping technology monitors the vehicle’s movements every 2 milliseconds, adapting the suspension calibration according to the driver’s inputs or changes in the road surface. Thanks to its instantaneous operation, the car offers improved driving dynamics (with less body roll) and greater ride comfort.

The adaptive damping of this system offers two driving modes: Normal and Dynamic.
