Jaguar XKR-S takes on the legendary XJ220

If there is a motoring publication with a stroke of luck, it is undoubtedly EVO, which today has once again filled us with envy thanks to a simply mind-blowing proposal: a showdown between the new Jaguar XKR-S and the legendary and always beautiful Jaguar XJ220. The venue for the clash? The Nürburgring.

Focusing on the contenders, on one side we have the legendary Jaguar XJ220, a beauty produced in the 1990s that managed to set a new lap record at the Nürburgring in 1992 when its test driver completed a lap in 7:46. Without a doubt one of the biggest records of the decade, so much so that it held the top spot on the table until the turn of the millennium

In the second corner we have Chris Harris at the controls of the new XKR-S, one of the supercars that, at least to my taste, is among the most beautiful of recent times. Same power but completely different engineering. Shall we dare?
