Juice Booster 3 air, the portable charging station now more manageable and efficient
Juice Technology presents the new generation of its portable charging station, the Booster 3 air, now smaller and with more connection possibilities

It was a year ago that we first met the Juice Booster 2, a portable charging station for charging electric vehicle batteries aimed at those who lack the option of installing a fixed “wallbox”, whether due to lack of space or simply not having a place to install it, although it will also allow us to recharge our electric vehicle when we are somewhere without charging stations.
The Juice Booster 2 arrived to revolutionise electric vehicle charging and to fill the lack of infrastructure suffered in many countries around the world for charging these vehicles, a portable charging station that has continued to be developed and evolved into the new product that Swiss company Juice Technology now presents to us: the Juice Booster 3 air.

The new Juice Booster 3 air differs from its predecessor mainly in that its size has been reduced to make it even easier to handle and transport, occupying just 21 centimetres long by 5 centimetres wide. In addition, it becomes part of the company’s new j+ series, with which they aim to create an intelligently interconnected ecosystem of charging solutions, which means it has firmware compatible with other charging stations in the j+ series and can be operated with the universal “j+ pilot” app.

Thanks to the j+ pilot app we can update the software of the Juice Booster 3 air via Bluetooth or WLAN networks, so that it will always be up to date with whatever requirements may arise in the future as technology advances. But the app will also let us use the “smartJUICE” function, which is cloud-based charging management with which up to 10 devices can be configured, registering them via QR code to connect them as a group. This serves to avoid overloading the home network through a limit value set in advance, and when a vehicle is fully charged or disconnects from the network, the released charging power is used by the other vehicles still connected.

Otherwise the Juice Booster 3 air inherits the advantages of its predecessor, which means it can deliver up to 11 kW of power, in addition to featuring up to 30 different adapters for the power outlet we are going to use at any given time, capable of adjusting charging management at all times. But that is not all: it is fully resistant to water and dust, can withstand loads of up to 3 tonnes per wheel, as well as extreme temperatures between -30 and 50 degrees Celsius, and can detect up to 10 different faults, including external faults such as a poorly wired power outlet (identified as the error “wiring”) or the vehicle drawing more current than permitted (identified as “overload”).
