Kia begins sales of the Optima Hybrid in our country

The South Korean brand Kia has started selling the hybrid version of the Optima this November. This marks the launch of the brand’s first model with hybrid technology combining a petrol engine with an electric motor.

Between the two engines, the Kia Optima Hybrid features a special clutch that allows the petrol engine to disconnect from the transmission, so the car can run on the electric motor alone. It can keep moving up to 100 km/h, at which point the petrol engine kicks back in.

With these two engines, the Kia Optima Hybrid delivers a combined maximum output of 190 CV, achieving 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 9.4 seconds and a top speed of 192 km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.4 l/100 km on the combined cycle, with CO2 emissions of 125 g/km. Finally, the price is around 37,440 euros, but with the promotional discount the Kia Optima Hybrid drops to 34,705 euros.
