KIA Rio, technology and design for everyone

KIA is enjoying a sweet season. After a 2015 full of launches and successes, with numerous presentations of vehicles across a variety of segments, it looks ahead to 2016 with optimism.
In this newly begun year, one of the brand’s main pillars, the Rio, lowers its price and raises its equipment level to be even more attractive, all with a selling price starting at €7,645 and going up to €13,487.
Design: more modernity on show
The Rio has passed through the hands of the design team at the Korean company, which has given it back its modernity thanks to a sharper front grille that emphasises the “tiger nose”, KIA’s signature identity feature. Both the front bumper and the front fog lights feature a redesigned look, while the new alloy wheel designs (in 15″ and 16″) give the Rio a more dynamic touch.
Thanks to very compact dimensions of just 4.05 metres in length, 1.72 metres in width and 1.455 metres in height, the Rio is able to move with great ease through urban traffic, aided by short overhangs and excellent visibility.
Interior: more equipment and better quality
Inside, the Rio, despite being one of the youngest members of the KIA range, does not fall behind when compared with its sister models within the brand. The interior quality of today’s KIAs has nothing to envy from that of their European rivals, something customers appreciate and value.

The Rio takes advantage of the start of 2016 to improve the atmosphere in the cabin thanks to small details such as some chrome trim pieces and a more ergonomic design for the centre console. In addition, the Rio’s interior is one of the most spacious in the B-segment, allowing five people to be seated comfortably.
A cosier and more pleasant interior with plenty of technology
It is also worth highlighting the Rio’s extensive technology, with more equipment than ever. New features include a new GPS navigator with a seven-inch colour touchscreen or the option of DAB digital radio reception. There is no shortage of details such as automatic climate control, four electric windows, and light and rain sensors.
Cutting-edge technology at reduced prices
To make the Rio even more appealing, KIA now includes a new package of measures called “KIA ISG”, which improve the vehicle’s efficiency. This set of systems consists of an improved Start&Stop system, a reinforced alternator and starter motor, and low rolling resistance tyres. The KIA Rio is available with 75 and 85 CV engines, which drive the front wheels through 5- and 6-speed manual gearboxes.

Thanks to all these measures, the Rio is one of the most economical and eco-friendly city cars on the market today, without compromising on a selling price that, in January 2016, starts at just €7,645, one of the lowest list prices in the segment.
