Kia Sportage Black Edition, now with a much sportier look
Kia launches in Spain the limited Black Edition of the Sportage, with a more appealing design and an expanded standard equipment list

Kia has managed to combine in the Sportage an attractive image and a spacious SUV at a relatively affordable price, which has convinced many customers and has helped this South Korean model rank not only among the top spots of the best-selling SUV lists but also become the best-seller within the Kia range itself.
The brand wants the Sportage to keep this upward trajectory and, to that end, now offers the limited Black Edition, which will stand out not only for its more dynamic and sporty look but also for its expanded standard equipment. The Sportage in Drive trim has been used as the base model, and on the exterior, true to its name, several elements finished in gloss black stand out, such as the front grille with a new frame and mesh, the front and rear skid plates, the headlight surrounds, the roof bars and the front and side-step metal protectors.

These are not the only exterior changes: the look is completed with black badges, 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and the chrome exterior door handles are replaced with ones in body colour. Incidentally, Kia will allow the Sportage Black Edition to be specified in any colour available for the range except Cosmos Blue and Copper Stone. The interior also receives changes, with leather upholstery for the steering wheel, gear lever and armrests, as well as high-quality fabric for the seats.
As mentioned at the start, the Kia Sportage Black Edition is not only a limited edition focused on looks, but also offers an interesting standard equipment list that includes items such as:
- Front and rear parking sensors
- Electric lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat
- Electrically folding exterior mirrors with LED indicators
- Rain sensor
- Auto-dimming rear-view mirror
- Dual-zone climate control
- 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity
- UVO Connect connected services
- Lane keeping assist system
- High beam assist
- Intelligent speed limit warning
- Driver fatigue detection system

Mechanically, the Kia Sportage Black Edition will be available with the 1.6 GDi naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 132 CV and 161 Nm of torque, or, for those who prefer diesel, the 1.6 EcoDynamics+ producing 136 CV and 320 Nm with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. Both engines send power to the front axle; there is no all-wheel-drive option. The petrol version starts from 22,606 euros, while the diesel version starts from 26,579 euros.
