Kia unveils sketches of the new XCeed ahead of its imminent presentation

Kia is putting the finishing touches on a new event, as next Monday will see the presentation of the new XCeed, the crossover variant of the Ceed. The latter was presented in its last generation exactly one year ago, so it is to be expected that the XCeed will adopt many elements of its compact sibling, something we can glimpse in the sketches the brand has revealed.

We are just a few days away from Kia unveiling the new XCeed in full, but for now they give us some sketches where we can see quite clearly what we can expect. First of all, Kia will add the so-called GT-Line trim to the new XCeed, something that will happen for the first time on this model and will give it a sportier look, which is the one shown in the sketches accompanying these lines.

Starting from that, we see that the new Kia XCeed adopts a new front end in which the front grille includes newly designed chrome trim, flanked on both sides by the new headlight unit with a new light signature, already found on the Ceed. A little lower, the bumper is also revised, with cleaner, smoother lines that give way to a large central air intake, accompanied by chrome trim and more discreet but different side air intakes.

On the sides, there do not seem to be many changes, perhaps only in the design of the side skirts and in new wheel designs with more attractive styles depending on the trim chosen. At the rear, the same seems to happen, with changes focused on a new design for the rear light cluster and the lower part of the bumper, where the fake diffuser features a new design that also accommodates the surrounds for the exhaust outlets.

For now Kia has not revealed images of the interior, which will surely be saved for the day of the presentation, but it is logical that the XCeed will take on elements inherited from the Ceed, so we should find a centre console housing the 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. All of this accompanied by the latest technologies in driver assistance and driving aid systems.

Mechanically, we will also have to wait for Kia to confirm how the offer for the European market will be made up, but the brand has already revealed that the new XCeed will include electrified combustion engines in its range, that is, we will have versions with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains that will be friendlier to the environment and to our wallets.
