Kia will unveil the new Cee'd with "GT Line" specifications at the Geneva Motor Show
New Kia Cee’d “GT Line”
The Cee’d with “GT Line” specifications will be unveiled at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show. It will feature other novelties with which Kia is attending the event. The complete package consists of, in addition to the sporty look with the new line that makes the Cee’d more eye-catching, the new “Kappa” 1.0 T-GDI engine three-cylinder with 120 CV and the DCT gearbox with seven speeds and dual clutch.
The sporty image offered by the new “GT Line” can be available in the three body styles that make up the range: Pro_cee’d three-door, Cee’d five-door and the Cee’d Sportswagon estate. The distinctive details are evident at first sight. The package features square LED daytime running lights shaped like ice cubes located in the lower part of the front bumper, which is wider and has a new design, next to the fog lights; in the centre is the characteristic “tiger nose” grille present on all models in the range; on the Pro_cee’d and Cee’d versions, the dual exhaust outlets are placed on either side of the rear bumper diffuser, while on the Sportswagon version, the dual exhaust outlet is located to the left of the diffuser.

Other features that distinguish the new GT line from the standard versions currently sold in the Cee’d range are the attractive GT sill extensions, LED rear lights and 17″ alloy wheels completing the exterior look. Inside, the new grey, white or black upholstery stands out, depending on the market where it is sold, with grey stitching and “GT Line” logos. The leather-wrapped steering wheel has glossy black inserts. The pedals are made of aluminium and the dashboard is dominated by a centre console with a design inspired by the GT. The lighting on the USB and auxiliary sockets, an aluminium trim on the air vents and window switches complete a cabin that is both attractive and sporty.
Apart from the new GT line, another of the main novelties of Kia at the Geneva Show is under the bonnet, where the new 1.0-litre three-cylinder T-GDI engine producing 120 CV of power is found. It has been developed with the aim of improving consumption and emissions while increasing performance. It is equipped with Kia’s fuel-saving system, Intelligent Stop & Go (ISG), available with a six-speed manual gearbox. The 1.6-litre CRDi diesel engine, which will also be available in the “GT Line” versions, has been improved and goes from 128 CV to 133 CV.

Kia also debuts another important innovation at the Geneva Show. This is a new seven-speed DCT dual-clutch gearbox that replaces the current automatic gearbox with torque converter and six ratios. It improves performance such as acceleration, avoids the annoying jerk between gears, reduces consumption and allows comfortable driving in any mode in which it is used: sporty feel in manual mode and smoothness and comfort in automatic mode. It will be available in the “GT Line” versions fitted with the 1.6-litre CRDi engine of 133 CV.
Both the seven-speed DCT dual-clutch gearbox and the three-cylinder 1.0 T-GDI engine have been developed at the R&D centre that the Korean brand owns in Namyang. Subsequently, and in addition to the GT line, other models of Kia will be able to benefit from both.
New Kia Cee’d SW “GT Line”
The Kia Cee’d “GT Line” will be available at European dealerships at the end of 2015, during the fourth quarter. The warranty will be 7 years or 150,000 kilometres, as has been provided to vehicles sold by Kia until now.
