Lada: the Russian brand's first electric car, unveiled in Moscow
The Lada will be the first electric vehicle manufactured in Russia, by AvtoVAZ. Very similar to the Lada Kalina, but with a fairly conventional electric powertrain.

With the ë-Auto (Yo Auto) project almost come to nothing, the one led by Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov and that was going to bring to life the first hybrid built entirely in Russia, the privileged position was left vacant. Nevertheless, Lada (or, to put it another way, Nissan-Renault) has rushed to fill the gap with the Lada Electric.
This picturesque name refers to the first electric vehicle that would be built in Russia, and we can even offer you a video of it. Similar to the Lada Kalina, the new concept features an electric motor of 60 kW and a range of 160 kilometres, with a top speed of almost 100 mph.
The first real-world tests of the Lada Electric cannot be more “real”, since it will be put through its paces by the most demanding drivers, the taxi drivers of the Russian city of Stavropol, in daily use for a few days.
We leave you a video of the Lada Electric, although in Russian, which is incomprehensible to us, where it is shown in some dynamic tests and on rollers. Beyond that, there are no other clues as to what will become of this electric Lada, beyond the experimental model.
