Lamborghini says goodbye to pure ICE engines: no model with them remains
Although they will not be producing entry-level electric vehicles, they will be producing models with plug-in hybrid engines that will replace the current ones.

The era of pure combustion engines is coming to an end. The approach of the year 2030, which will mark the end of the sale of cars with this type of engine, is prompting brands to advance the development of cars with electric engines or, at least, hybrid cars. Lamborghini has just announced that the last vehicles with pure combustion engines have already been reserved, and those that have not left the factory will do so shortly, and that no more will be manufactured.
The Lamborghini models are now entering a phase with hybrid engines, which will begin to be present in many of its cars. For the time being, the Lamborghini Huracan, including the Sterrato and Tecnica versions, are no longer available with the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine, at least not without hybridisation.

Another of the models that has ended its life with the V8 engine is the Urus. This model was equipped with this engine in its Performante and S versions, which have already been sold out. The next Lamborghini Urus to arrive will be the model with a plug-in hybrid engine. We will most likely have it ready to enjoy from the year 2024 onwards.

This will be the second model from the brand to feature this type of engine, after the Revuelto. To move, it will possibly use a V8 engine adapted to this type of drive. What is rumoured is that the Urus will use the same engine that powers the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid.
In that model, this plug-in hybrid engine delivers a combined output of 670 CV and a maximum torque of 900 Nm. However, this engine will offer more power and torque if installed in the Urus, to justify the higher price and performance of the Lamborghini model. The Urus will also have an electric version, although for that we will have to wait until 2029.
The brand’s first electric car will be a Gran Turismo, arriving a year before the electric Urus, in 2028. Another of the most anticipated models is the successor to the Huracan, which will have a plug-in hybrid engine. The rumours, once again, announce what type of engine this hypercar will have. It is expected to use the V8 engine from the Urus supported by an electric motor, although there is no data about this model.
