Lamborghini Urus by ABT Sportsline: steel muscles!

One of the most beastly SUVs on the market, the Lamborghini Urus, has been through ABT Sportsline’s “gym” to build muscle and reach 710 CV.

ABT Sportsline, one of Germany’s most prestigious tuners, has experience proposing modifications on models from the Volkswagen group. And the latest to pass through its hands has been none other than the Lamborghini Urus, one of the most beastly SUVs on the market.

The reasons why a potential customer of Lamborghini would not be satisfied with what the Urus offers as standard are beyond our understanding. Although, normally, when someone seeks this kind of tuning, it is usually out of pure whim, or in pursuit of maximum exclusivity.

That is why the Urus is one of the most “interpreted” sporting SUVs. Not long ago, for example, we saw the proposal of the Urus customised by Manhart Performance, or dressed in an exclusive carbon-fibre kit for the modest price of 35,000 euros.

Twin-turbo V8 engine boosted to 710 CV

ABT Sportsline took care of that. To start with, thanks to a new engine management unit, the 4-litre twin-turbo V8 increases its output from 650 CV to 710 CV, while maximum torque climbs to 910 Nm.

ABT makes a few curious comparisons when presenting this Urus. The first reminds us of the power of the legendary Lamborghini Countach LP400S of the 1980s, with its V12 engine: its 375 CV is almost half that of this Urus.

The second comparison references none other than the new Porsche 911 Carrera S. It is no surprise: ABT’s Urus improves the standard SUV’s acceleration by 2 tenths, going from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, which would put the very “nine-eleven” in trouble.

Naturally, ABT’s tuning of the Urus does not stop at mechanical aspects. Equally or more important for customers of this type of car is aesthetic personalisation.

And the ABT Urus stands out through a whole series of aesthetic elements to the customer’s taste, ranging from the rear diffuser to aerodynamic elements, larger wheels or an exclusive interior.
