Today, on a date as special as the 117th anniversary of Lancia, the Italian brand takes a bold step into the future by revealing a small teaser and an image of the highly anticipated Lancia Ypsilon, the flagship of the brand that will be manufactured in Zaragoza. Nobody expected this, and it is that Lancia is being reborn in the automotive world; after a long time without any launch, it seems they have now got their act together and want to stand out again with their new models, just as they did with the iconic Flaminia and Aurelia B24 Spider, up to the powerful Delta, Stratos and 037.

Lancia is not only presenting its new flagship model, but doing so in a limited electrified edition in collaboration with Cassina, which promises to be spectacular, and we have no doubt about it, since they already left us speechless with the presentation of the new Lancia Pu+Ra in Madrid.

The Lancia Ypsilon, which will be officially presented in Milan next February , although we expect further details in the coming weeks, arrives in a CASSINA LIMITED EDITION, with only 1,906 numbered and certified units. This model stands as the forerunner of Lancia’s electrification strategy, aligning with Stellantis’s ambitious strategic plan ‘Dare Forward‘ and backed by Free2move Charge in a fully integrated, complete 360° charging ecosystem. The first image of the Ypsilon reveals a distinctive detail: the “tavolino” (table), a symbol that represents the feeling of home on board a Lancia, and which bears the signature of Cassina.

The collaboration with Cassina not only brings a touch of luxury to the design of the Ypsilon, but also redefines the driver’s experience. Luca Fuso, CEO of Cassina, said: “The collaboration with Lancia has allowed us to extend our experience to the automotive sector with LANCIA YPSILON EDIZIONE LIMITATA CASSINA”.

The image of the “tavolino” presented today encapsulates a unique design element, highlighting the importance of the feeling of home in a car. This collaboration seeks to emphasise attention to detail, high-quality materials, colours and spaces, with the first “tavolino” on board a car so that drivers feel at home wherever they are.

What will the Ypsilon offer?

The new model will be available with two engine options, one petrol and one electric. In the first case, it will use a 1.2 PureTech petrol engine with 48-volt mild hybridisation. As for the electric version, it will offer 156 CV of power and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, transmitted to the front axle.

In this case, the battery will be 57 kWh, allowing the car to reach 400 kilometres of range according to the WLTP cycle. That is all we know for now. The official presentation will take place over the coming months and it will reach the market a few months later, in 2024.
