The guys at Land Rover have just unveiled the new generation of the Discovery, one of their most iconic models.

The fifth generation of this off-roader comes with more technology than ever, yet it keeps the essence of one of the most popular off-roaders in history.

In terms of design, the Discovery 5 has managed to reinvent itself while remaining the same. Although it features a completely renewed look, the Discovery retains the essence of previous generations, with robust, boxy lines and details such as the glasshouse that merges with the roof at the rear of the vehicle.

Inside, the Discovery offers a cabin with the typical family resemblance of Land Rover, with impeccable build quality and plenty of practicality. The large central infotainment touchscreen stands out, as does the abundance of storage compartments, some of them specifically designed to hold electronic devices such as tablets or smartphones.

The cabin still seats 7 occupants and offers a large boot. As a special feature, the third row of seats has an electric folding system for greater convenience, which leaves the boot floor completely flat in just 12 seconds.

Mechanically, the Discovery 5 will initially launch with two 3.0 V6 Ingenium engines: a petrol unit with 340 CV and a diesel with 260 CV, both paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Also notable is the inclusion of the All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) system, which allows safe progress in any situation thanks to automatic control of the pedals and steering.
