Honda presents its limited version of only 20 units of the Mugen Civic Type R, aiming to turn it into one of the most efficient and sporty compacts. It will be a fairly exclusive model, both because of its price of around 43,000 euros and because its transformation is entirely handcrafted.

One of the most important changes is the increase in power to 240 CV, with maximum torque also rising by 10% from the standard 193 Nm. In addition, the engine control unit receives a reprogramming that helps achieve that specific output of 120 CV/litre.

Along with the engine, the suspension has also been modified, with a limited-slip differential on the front axle, new springs and dampers on all four wheels. As for the braking system, it features disc brakes with four monobloc calipers inside 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels. These 20 limited units are painted in the Championship White colour.

Just in case that seemed like too little, Mugen offers the option of fitting a “Track Pack”, which includes Recaro seats, removal of the rear seats, a lap timer, competition-road wheels, water/oil temperature gauges along with the installation of a telemetry system. As for the likely success of this version, Honda is confident of it, based on the fact that the Mugen Civic Type-R, limited to just 300 units in Japan, sold out in less than 6 minutes.
