Lotus creates a special vehicle for ice

No, you’re not the only one wondering what on earth Lotus is doing in Antarctica with this.
Many times the design departments of car brands create things totally far removed from four wheels as a way of exercising their imagination, tackling other products and, along the way, creating things that can sell better. Other times, they take advantage of their high level of skill to try to come up with something difficult to design, but… this time we’re dealing with a resounding WTF.
It is 4.5 metres long, has a similar wingspan and three skids to glide across the Antarctic ice. It will run on a biofuel developed for the occasion too to prevent low temperatures from causing problems; it also has a radar to warn of cracks in the ice.
Its mission is to transport three scientists: Andrew Regan, Andrew Moon and Jason de Carteret, on the Moon Regan Trans Antarctic Expedition. The purpose of the trip is to study how much weight the South Pole carries in the sustainability of our planet.
And if you can, boast about having taken an excursion to such a place aboard a Lotus, right?
