LupiniPower Chevrolet SuperUte, a pick-up capable of reaching 280 km/h

LupiniPower, a tuner we had never even heard of until now and which apparently is based in South Africa, has just burst onto the scene thanks to a piece of work that is truly impressive, where it’s not only the 20-inch wheels that dazzle.
As you can see, we are looking at a Chevrolet Ute SS which, originally, came as standard with a magnificent V8 engine capable of producing just under 300 horsepower, an output that apparently was laughable, since the guys at LupiniPower have simply decided to get rid of it
You must be planning something really big to get rid of an impressive V8 engine, as big as fitting a new supercharged 6.2-litre V8, exactly the same as the one under the bonnet of the Corvette ZR1, capable of producing 535 hp and 800 Nm of peak torque.

Now, what can you expect from this new powertrain? Nothing less than a pick-up capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds or, as the title of this post rightly says, capable of reaching a top speed of 280 km/h.
To improve the dynamics, something very important in a vehicle whose power has been boosted this aggressively, the South African tuner has fitted, among other things, a new, much more powerful braking system, Bilstein suspension, a limited-slip differential and even new 20-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE050 tyres.
Finally, I’ll just say that, according to its creators, this sporty pick-up has a price of “just” 91,500 euros. Now, is it really worth paying that price for one of these particular pick-ups? In my opinion, NO.
