Mad Max IV Fury Road in pre-production

Perhaps the headline of this post would fit better the blog our colleagues run at Cinetelia, but I think that the 99% of us who love cars (and who are getting a little on in years) know what the Mad Max film saga means. And besides, there are quite a few more of us than we expected who are looking forward to the fourth part of this post-apocalyptic film.
In truth, nobody knows what the fourth part of Mad Max, called Fury Road (Camino de Furia), will be about, at least in its early pre-production stages. For now, the actors who will play the characters in the fourth instalment of the saga are being chosen, although the presence of actor Mel Gibson has not been confirmed, and there is no need for it. Mad Max is not an icon of acting, but a showcase of strange vehicles in a post-nuclear world, which is what interests us most about the film.
George Miller himself, director of the first Mad Max in 1979, gave an interview to an Australian television channel, revealing some details about the film. The appearance, almost a starring role, of the famous Interceptor has been confirmed, together with other vehicles (bizarre, of course) that are currently in preparation. It’s a shame the camera never focuses directly on one of the vehicles in the report.
For more details, Mad Max IV Fury Road will be made on a budget of 100 million dollars and filming will begin in Australia next year, with a release in 2011. Below, the report given by George Miller to the Australian channel ABC.
