Manhart SL 800R: the German convertible shows its most radical side thanks to the tuner

Manhart has already given its touch to the new Mercedes-AMG SL before its arrival at dealerships, turning it into a brutal 800 CV machine

Just over three months ago, the star brand presented us with its new Mercedes-AMG SL. A true convertible sports car with plenty of potential to become a benchmark in its segment, thanks to its truly sublime design and a state-of-the-art technology package.

Although its exact arrival date is yet to be confirmed, Manhart has decided to take it as a base to show us what it is capable of, giving it a more aggressive look and fitting several engine upgrades that take it to 800 CV and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Sporty and imposing

Starting with its styling, the new Manhart SL 800R has been finished in a dark matte black which, combined with its fabric roof and the longitudinal stripe running across the bonnet and rear, plus the gold-coloured side graphics, gives it a very sporty look, though somewhat “over the top” compared to the standard model. But does anyone care?

Among the highlights of this Manhart SL, it also features Manhart Concave One wheels in 22-inch size, with gold-coloured accents that match the aggressive rear diffuser and front splitter, which, as it could not be otherwise, are made of carbon fibre.

Leaving its exterior design aside, if we step inside the cabin, the new Manhart SL features seats, door panels and dashboard upholstered in Nappa leather, complemented by numerous carbon fibre trim pieces that give it that very special touch.

Power and torque in abundance

The heart powering this machine is the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 fitted to the Mercedes-AMG SL, although with a series of modifications to the turbochargers, intercooler and intake, which is now carbon fibre, to extract a full 800 CV and 1,000 Nm of peak torque, turning this Manhart SL into a true catapult.
