Defender Land Rover SUV Tuning
Mansory Defender Black Edition, a tremendously powerful and eye-catching beast
Mansory has taken the Defender V8 to its workshops to transform it radically both inside and out, while also adding more power

The Land Rover Defender has always been considered one of the most capable 4x4s on the planet, but with the latest generation Land Rover it has gone a step further: although it may no longer be suited to the crazy stunts that earlier generations were known for, it has also become a luxury object.
Precisely these latter ones, the ones that won’t be tackling the mountain with it, are what Mansory has in mind with a kit that transforms it completely, taking it from being the king of the trailer parks to being the king of the asphalt, because it will attract plenty of looks. Dubbed Defender Black Edition, you can imagine, and as you can see in the images, Mansory’s proposal centres on a black-focused styling kit although, it also hides surprises under its bonnet.

Viewed from the front, the Defender has little or nothing in common with the standard model, with a front end that is modified almost entirely thanks to the new, much more aggressive and intimidating grille which, together with the front bumper, gives it a new look, new air intakes and new LED fog lights of fresh design. Taking advantage of its height, at the lower part there is an elaborate splitter that blends perfectly with the bumper.

To finish with the latest changes to the front, which come from the redesigned bonnet with air outlets that help with cooling and, if we look a little higher, we will see that new supplementary LED lights have been installed on the windscreen. From the side, the bespoke casings made for the wing mirrors stand out, which include a sort of spoiler that we understand helps the aerodynamics; and let’s not forget the enormous and spectacular 24-inch wheels, flanked by discreet side skirts and the air outlets of the front wheel arches.

The rear, like the front, has also been profoundly redesigned. First, the tailgate has been modified to move the spare wheel location from its original position, leaving the Mansory name engraved on it clearly visible. On both sides new mouldings have been fitted for the beautiful rear LED lights, which incidentally look larger due to their greater width thanks to the new side panels. At the bottom a new bumper has also been fitted, incorporating a beautiful rear diffuser that includes dual exhaust outlets. The final touch is provided by the rear spoiler, split into two pieces.

The interior of the Mansory Defender Black Edition will let the tuner offer a wide range of materials and colours so the customer can let their imagination run free, although the design proposed in the photos will leave no one indifferent. Black Alcantara upholstery has been chosen with orange details as contrast, to which must be added carbon fibre inserts or aluminium on other elements such as the pedals. The luxurious note is struck by the hundreds of LEDs illuminating the ceiling, like a starry sky, as well as the Mansory logo, in the purest Rolls-Royce style.

Finally, mechanically, the Mansory Defender Black Edition takes as its base the 5,000 cc V8, with modifications such as engine management and the installation of a new sporty exhaust line, all to achieve a new output of 650 CV and a torque of 870 Nm, figures that allow it to reach 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and attain a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
