Maserati Ghibli and Levante FTributo Special Edition: a special edition as a tribute to a legend of the Trident

This edition pays homage to Maria Teresa de Filippis, a true icon of the Italian marque in the world of 1950s motor racing

It is not the first time we have seen the FTributo name applied by the Modena firm: just over a year ago, the brand unveiled a special edition of its Levante and Ghibli to commemorate its glorious racing past.

Now, Maserati returns with its FTributo Special Edition, this time honouring a figure of great importance to the brand: she became the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix at the wheel of a Maserati 250F.

The driver in question is Maria Teresa De Filippis, an Italian racer who, in 1955, took part in the 39th Targa Florio driving an Maserati A6GCS and finished ninth overall, which led to her being selected in 1958 as the first woman to compete in Formula 1.

Two colours available

Focusing on this special edition, the brand has sought to bring out the sportier side of its Ghibli and Levante, dressing them in an orange shade called Arancio Devil, and an alternative in grey Grigio Lamiera that gives them a more understated and elegant character.

The Levante FTributo in Arancio Devil rides on 21-inch Anteo wheels in lead grey, while the Ghibli in Arancio Devil paint is fitted with 21-inch Titano wheels in Grigio Opaco.

If, on the other hand, the Grigio Lamiera body colour is chosen for either the Levante or the Ghibli, the wheels change to Glossy Black, while the details, the specific inserts and the trident logo are orange.

A coordinated interior

Inside, the cabin of both models combines elegance, sportiness and comfort, with seats upholstered in Pieno Fiore natural leather in black or brown, combined with orange contrast stitching and an embroidery on the headrests featuring the name of the special edition and the trident.

With all this, and 77 years after the story of this racing legend, the FTributo Special Edition commemorates the brand’s sporting legacy and its victories on the circuits.
