Maserati will launch the highly exclusive and limited Royale edition for the Quattroporte, Levante and Ghibli

Maserati revives the Royale name 33 years later for a limited edition aimed at the Quattroporte, Levante and Ghibli with V6 engines

Maserati Quattroporte Royale (3)

The third generation of the Maserati Quattroporte marked a turning point within the Italian brand itself, partly because of the technology used and partly because of how it was manufactured. In 1986 it also received, for the first time, a very exclusive limited edition of which only 51 units were produced. This edition, named Royale, featured exclusive paintwork and improved interiors with new materials, as well as the powerful 4,900 cc V8 engine producing 300 CV.

Since then, Maserati has not created any new limited Royale editions, which are characterized by greater luxury. However, the brand has decided it was time to revive this name and, at the same time, pay tribute, as the company puts it, to its historical heritage. There will, though, be some differences compared with the first Royale edition: this time it will apply not only to the Quattroporte, but also to the Ghibli and the Levante and, more specifically, to the versions equipped with the V6 engine.

Maserati Quattroporte Royale (2)

These three models will be characterized on the outside by the option of bodywork in the exclusive colours Blu Royale or Verde Royale, as well as 21-inch wheels, the “Anteo” design in Antracite for the Maserati Levante and, also in 21 inches and the same colour but the “Titano” design, for the Ghibli and Quattroporte, all with silver brake calipers. The interiors of these three models will be based on the GranLusso version, so customers will get the Pelletessuta Zegna upholstery (an exclusive interlaced leather fabric from Maserati) in Cuoio colour, or Pieno Fiore leather combining Black/Cuoio colours, along with high-gloss finishes for the inserts and, finally, an identification plate bearing the edition number.

To make this special Royale edition even more attractive, the Maserati Quattroporte, Levante and Ghibli will have a more complete equipment specification, with features such as the Sound System Bowers & Wilkins audio system, an electric sunroof, darkened rear windows, the Cold Weather, Premium and Driving Assistance Plus packs, and the Maserati Touch Control Plus unit, an 8.4-inch touchscreen that controls functions such as seat and steering wheel heating and ventilation, the rear sunshade and, in addition, displays the images from the rear-view cameras. On top of this, there are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Maserati Royale Special Series Range (3)

Only 100 units will be built of this limited Royale series. They can already be ordered, with the first deliveries starting in March, at a starting price of 115,000 euros for the Maserati Ghibli, 126,300 euros for the Maserati Levante and 149,900 euros for the Maserati Quattroporte.
