Mazda achieves a notable sales increase for its models in Europe

September was a very good month for Mazda. The Japanese brand once again achieved double-digit sales growth in Europe. Sales, which reached almost 17,000 units, grew by no less than 30.2% compared with September 2012, marking the third consecutive month with growth above 30%.
Growth was especially high in Scandinavia and the United Kingdom: Mazda has doubled its sales, rising by no less than 139% this year in Norway, and has increased by 52% in Sweden. In the United Kingdom, British buyers acquired 45% more new Mazda vehicles in September and 14.5% more in the first three quarters of 2013.
The key to these successes has been the Mazda6 and the Mazda CX-5. In fact, the latter is the best-selling SUV in Norway and the second best-selling model across all categories. In the rest of the countries, sales of the Mazda CX-5 have tripled in Sweden and have nearly doubled in Germany. Specifically, they have grown by 84% in the German market, the largest in Europe. The Mazda6 has enjoyed similar acceptance, with sales increases of 240% in Sweden, 80% in Germany and 52% in Denmark so far in 2013.
It remains to be seen what role the new Mazda3 will play in the company’s sales and in public acceptance, given that it is a fairly recent launch. The Mazda3 combines the “KODO, Soul of Motion” design with the revolutionary SKYACTIV technology, offering a safe cabin, low overall weight and fuel efficiency.
