Mazda organised a special event for the 20th anniversary of the MX-5

I’m sure many users were impressed by the presentation of the MX-5 Superlight Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and that Japanese customers were captivated by the special edition launched exclusively for that market a couple of months ago.
For that reason, it’s not surprising that the Japanese manufacturer organised a special event last 20 September. In this way, the company reminded everyone that twenty years ago the first Miata went on sale in the Land of the Rising Sun.
To commemorate this date, more than 1,600 roadsters and their respective owners headed to the birthplace of the convertible at the Miyoshi test track. When the circuit gates opened at 6:30 in the morning, the cars were welcomed by the staff in charge.
Approximately 2,600 owners travelled from across the country and from some parts abroad to take part in the event. The celebration kicked off with a toast from an owner who was born on the same day the iconic convertible hit the market.
To close the celebration, the director of Mazda and one of the main executives in charge of developing the car, Seita Kanai, addressed the crowd with the following words:
The roadster is forever
Afterwards, all the vehicles present began to parade around the track before leaving the premises.
