McLaren will launch 14 new models over the next five years
McLaren has activated its Track 22 investment plan, aiming to launch up to 14 new models and versions over the next five years.

As part of its Track 22 investment plan, McLaren will launch 14 new car models within five years and produce up to five thousand units per year. This business plan lays out the path the company intends to follow to reach its goal for 2022.
For large car manufacturers such as Mercedes (to which McLaren has been linked for a long time), this productivity plan may seem unambitious. However, the sports car maker is much smaller, has specialised models and is aimed at a more niche audience. The British brand has only three model lines built on common modular platforms.

As part of the evolution, the current engines will be replaced by hybrid V6 powertrains. The Woking-based company recently unveiled its first second-generation model: the new 720S, the latest evolution of one of its Super Series models, which may give rise to new versions. With the launch of the 720S, the 650S would offer a less powerful version to replace the 640S. This vehicle will also be produced in three different versions: a convertible variant, a more extreme one (which will succeed the 675LT), and a 650S Spider, about which we have no further information yet.
In the coming years, the engines of the McLaren Sport Series are expected to be replaced by a hybrid V6 powertrain. Of the three variants of the Sport Series from the British firm (540C, 570S and 570GT), a Spider version will also be produced, doubling the number of vehicles in this category. In addition to the versions already mentioned, the BP23 will join as the new model in the Ultimate Series.
This information came to light coinciding with the appointment of Jens Ludmann as new Chief Operating Officer of McLaren Automotive. The former COO was Mike Flewitt, who has now become CEO of the British firm.
