McLaren will take a very special MP4-12C GT3 to the Goodwood Festival

Having presented both the MP4-12C and the 12C GT3 racing car at the Goodwood Festival in 2010 and 2011 respectively, McLaren considers it highly appropriate to officially unveil the revised 2013 MP4-12C alongside a special version of the racing model at this year’s event, which runs from 28 June to 1 July.

The 2009 Formula 1 World Champion, Jenson Button, will take the wheel of the updated 2013 MP4-12C on the Goodwood hill, where he will demonstrate the qualities of this machine. Among other improvements, the 2013 model brings an engine power increase from 600 CV to 625 CV, a modified version of the twin-clutch automatic gearbox, and new equipment options.

The variant built for the GT3 category is distinguished by its decoration with the beloved English flag. It seems that both Jeremy Clarkson and McLaren take patriotism to high levels. This supercar has its power reduced to 500 CV in order to be homologated for this competition.

Stay tuned, as all the images from Goodwood will start arriving tomorrow.
