Mercedes AMG One: The production of the long-awaited hypercar from Mercedes will begin in 2022
After several delays since its unveiling in 2018, the hybrid with over 1,000 CV from the star brand now has a date for the start of its production

The Mercedes AMG One is now closer to becoming a reality on the roads. More than four years after its prototype was unveiled, and after suffering a few setbacks with emissions homologation and with fine-tuning its five driving modes, which led to delays, the star brand has finally announced that production of this machine will begin in mid-2022.
With a spectacular design and state-of-the-art aerodynamics, the exclusive AMG One, of which only 275 units will be built, starts at a price of no less than 2.75 million euros. Despite all this, it is not yet known where production of this exclusive hybrid machine will take place.

One, a synonym for character
Since its inception, the Mercedes AMG One promised a unique character, hence its name. For this reason, Mercedes decided to equip it with the same engine as the brand’s F1 car. A 1.6-litre V6 capable of revving up to 11,000 rpm, which had to be recalibrated to comply with the strict WLTP regulations.
Alongside the aforementioned V6 unit, directly derived from F1, there will be up to four electric motors that will deliver a combined output of over 1,000 CV and performance that is truly breathtaking. Specifically, it can boast a top speed of 350 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in less than six seconds.

Ready to bring out the best
This heart is not the only F1 inheritance the AMG One will carry; its five driving modes will also include STRAT 2, a driving mode that increases power by 20 CV and which is used by the same drivers of the F1 team during qualifying sessions.
For now, this is the only major piece of news about this long-awaited hypercar, so we simply have to wait a few months for it to become a reality, so that its fortunate owners can enjoy it and so that enthusiasts like us can delight in it.
