Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition, a limited edition that pays tribute to its V12 engine
The Mercedes-AMG S 65 has sought to pay homage to its twin-turbo V12 engine with a special edition limited to just 130 units worldwide

Times are not easy for the huge, powerful combustion engines that once powered the great sports cars. On the battlefield, the casualties are increasingly numerous and few are still standing, although there are still some brave souls who dare to stand up to the sophisticated, modern engines of today. In this stand is the Mercedes-AMG S 65, a luxury saloon that has passed through the hands of AMG to keep delighting true fans of big engines.
Under the bonnet of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, numerous engines have been fitted, each with its own characteristics, but it was from its third generation onwards that this luxury saloon began to embrace the big, powerful V12 engines. These engines have remained linked to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class to this day, and the brand has decided to pay tribute to them with a limited edition, taking the spectacular Mercedes-AMG S 65 and naming it the Final Edition.

If you are lucky enough to have a deep bank account, you will be able to get your hands on one of the 130 units to be built worldwide, on which Mercedes has carried out a unique personalisation job to pay the homage it deserves. These modifications, which give it an exclusive design, are aimed at highlighting both its exterior and interior, blending perfectly the sportiness and elegance this model already radiates.
For the exterior of the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition, the German brand has chosen high-gloss Obsidian Black for the bodywork, combined with the special Matt Bronze colour applied to the 20-inch wheels, the frames surrounding the front air intakes of the bumper, the detail lines on the sides and the rear diffuser. The exterior is completed with the gloss black exhaust outlets.

The interior also continues the changes, with black as the protagonist, applied also to the exclusive Nappa leather upholstery, with copper-coloured stitching as a contrast, a colour also used for the floor mat stitching. To retain the sporty character of this model, carbon fibre is used for the inserts, while to make clear which edition we are looking at there is a unit identification plate on the centre console, and the sports steering wheel features the “AMG Edition” inscription.
Mercedes has also taken the opportunity to fit the S 65 Final Edition with equipment that is normally offered as an option. As such, we will find the Magic Sky Control panoramic roof; the Warmth package has also been installed; and the First Class individual rear seats, which are electrically adjustable like the front ones and include footrests, as well as cup holders in the centre tunnel with temperature control for our drink.
Mechanically, as expected, the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition is powered by the 6,000 cc twin-turbo V12 engine, which delivers 630 CV and an impressive torque of 1,000 Nm, paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. Despite its size and weight, this engine helps it reach 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 300 km/h thanks to the AMG Driver package.
