Mercedes-Benz opens orders for the electric CLA in Germany from 55 thousand euros

The price list for the new electric CLA in the German market can give us an idea of what this electric saloon will cost in Spain, always bearing in mind that the VAT rate in Germany is lower.

In Germany, Mercedes-Benz customers already have access to the online configurator for the electric CLA, where they can choose the version that best suits their needs along with the equipment level most appropriate for them. The base price of this new electric saloon from the German manufacturer’s entry-level version, the CLA 250+ EQ with rear-wheel drive, starts at 55,858.60 euros. Meanwhile, the top version, the CLA 350 4MATIC EQ with all-wheel drive, starts at 60,380.60 euros.

For the time being, the Stuttgart firm only offers these two versions, both equipped with an 85 kWh NMC battery pack. However, a new, even more affordable electric version is expected in the near future, with a 58 kWh LFP battery pack, as well as hybrid variants.

As we have already mentioned in previous posts, the new CLA is based on the brand’s new MMA platform. This platform has been designed specifically for electric vehicles, but it is also prepared to be adapted to hybrid propulsion systems, which will allow Mercedes-Benz to offer hybrid variants of this electric saloon using the same technological base.

Equipment packages for the new CLA

In the online configurator already available on the German Mercedes-Benz website, customers can personalise their vehicle with a wide range of extras. As standard, the CLA includes the Avanzado with Digital Extras package, which features LED headlights, a panoramic roof, air conditioning, heated front seats and the illuminated star on the grille. However, digital services such as the MB.CHARGE charging tariff or MBUX navigation are optional and carry an additional cost. Surprisingly, the base model, which costs almost 56 thousand euros, does not include built-in navigation, depending on optional packages or integration with smartphones.

The Avanzado Plus with Digital Extras package, for 1,469.65 euros extra, adds features such as the Keyless-Go system, wireless phone charging, a rear armrest and flush door handles, but still does not include navigation. The Premium with Digital Extras package, priced at 3,230.85 euros, includes climate control, memory seats and illuminated running boards, but the MBUX entertainment system remains optional. Finally, the Premium Plus with Digital Extras package, for which you have to pay more than 5,400 euros, incorporates high-end features such as Multibeam LED headlights, the Burmester sound system, a head-up display and Pre-Safe safety technology.

Once any of these packages has been selected, customers can personalise the paint colour, wheels, upholstery, trim and steering wheel, unless these are already included in a package. With such a variety of packages and options, it will therefore come as no surprise that several thousand additional euros in extras must be added to the vehicle’s starting price.

Your Mercedes-Benz CLA on a leasing contract

Finally, it should be noted that Mercedes-Benz offers the CLA 250+ EQ on a leasing contract for 300.36 euros per month over 36 months, with the possibility of driving a maximum of 15,000 km per year, with an initial payment of 11,171.72 euros. For the CLA 350 4MATIC, whose first deliveries will take place later, the leasing instalment is not yet known.
