Talking about the Mercedes SLR McLaren means talking about a unique model born from the collaboration of two supercar makers that, at the time, built one of the most attractive vehicles in history. However, differences in competition, in their vision of the future… led both brands to go their separate ways and carry on by themselves.

Even so, we must thank them for this splendid Mercedes SLR McLaren, something the guys at Edo Competition keep very much in mind, having just paid tribute to the SLR the way only they know how, with one of the most incredible tuning jobs of recent years.

As for the work presented, perhaps the first thing to highlight, as usual, is the excellent job done on the bodywork, which gives this model a far more attractive and, above all, aggressive presence, something that suits a car as impressive as the SLR down to the ground.

On the other hand, we have the enormous 21-inch alloy wheels fitted over huge high-performance tyres. To crown this striking look, no less important was the addition of new exhaust outlets finished in carbon fibre.

If, having reached this point, we move inside this peculiar SLR, we find a cabin filled with top-quality leather and Alcantara, as well as carbon fibre trim on the dashboard, centre console and doors. It is also worth mentioning the high level of technology this model has received, thanks above all to elements such as the new satnav, phone, television, rear camera and iPod.

Mechanically, as the guys at Edo Competition have made public, we are looking at a massive twin-turbo V8 which, thanks to a new remap and the installation of several new components such as a complete exhaust system, competition filter and high-flow catalytic converters, has had its output raised to 722 CV and 890 Nm of peak torque.

That is enough power, for example, to let this beautiful SLR McLaren Black Arrow accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds or break the 300 km/h barrier in just 24.5 seconds. Top speed has risen to 345 km/h.
