At the upcoming Beijing Motor Show, which starts in just two days, Mercedes will unveil the Concept Style, a car at the forefront of design among sports coupés, with a rebellious, non-conformist and provocative style. Technically, its standout features are innovative headlights and a new petrol engine, which we will tell you about a few paragraphs below.

Let’s talk about the exterior. We can see a dynamic, very sporty design with lines that, in my opinion, are beautiful. A bonnet with longitudinal ridges, a grille with a diamond effect and the combination of concave and convex surfaces make the vehicle very eye-catching at first glance. Moreover, the colour it is painted in accentuates its lines even further.

The 21-inch alloy wheels also lend a sportier touch to this new coupé, as does the turbine-style design. It also features frameless windows and has no central pillar. And if we look from above, we can see a large panoramic roof that lets in plenty of light to the interior. Although, personally, I would like to be inside when it’s raining… At the rear there is a dual-outlet exhaust, perfectly integrated into the car’s design.

We must not forget to highlight the innovative lighting system which, in stand-by mode, glows red (you can see it in the gallery) and which also has sequential indicators that light up in a set pattern to create lighting effects.

A high-quality, sporty interior

The interior is also beautiful, with a dashboard featuring a large centre console that extends rearward and a carbon trim running the width of the cabin, conveying elegance and sophistication.

The colour mix is perhaps what appeals to me least about this concept: light grey and anthracite tones, with bright green piping and stitching on the dashboard, steering wheel, seats and centre section. The colour combination doesn’t quite win me over, especially the fluorescent green.

2.000cc and 211 CV

Without a good engine, most customers would be put off. But that is not the case with the Concept Style Coupé. We will have 211 CV at our disposal, sourced from a two-litre petrol engine, with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and a 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Naturally, this engine features direct injection with a turbocharger, and also includes an evolved combustion process with a wider operating range under lean-mixture conditions.

Unfortunately, we do not yet know the sale price once it leaves the factory, although, on the positive side, we won’t have to wait long before it is revealed at the Beijing Motor Show.
