Mercedes-Maybach adds the sportiest model in its history with the new SL Monogram Series
Mercedes-Maybach has a new addition to its lineup, the SL Monogram Series, which will be available next year in two distinct themes

Mercedes-Maybach is characterised by elevating, if you’ll pardon the expression, the luxury of the most luxurious Mercedes-Benz models, and perhaps the surprise is that it has opted for a model like the SL, in which sportiness is the ultimate expression. In this case, the extreme luxury division of Mercedes has chosen precisely the SL, blending its sportiness with a unique and inimitable style within reach of only a few.
This is not a proposal but a fact: the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series will become a reality from spring 2025, and once it hits the market it will be offered in two exclusive design concepts. On one hand we will have the Red Ambience, characterised by a new two-tone paint in Obsidian Black Metallic over Manufaktur’s Garnet Red Metallic colour, while on the other we have the White Ambience, in which Obsidian Black Metallic is combined with Opalite White Magno, also from the Manufaktur range.

As befits a Mercedes-Maybach, these will not be the only exclusive details found on the exterior of the SL 680 Monogram Series. Both the grille and the Maybach logo are illuminated, while the Mercedes star marks the start of a chrome fin running the full length of the bonnet. The bonnet itself can gain even greater prominence thanks to the optional Maybach pattern integrated in graphite grey: a complex process in which a base layer is applied and then hand-polished, the Maybach pattern is then printed, and it is finished with two layers of transparent matt lacquer, which are again hand-polished.

Other exterior details include headlights finished with rose gold details, or the specific bumper that accentuates the width of this model at the front. Chrome makes an appearance around the windscreen frame and along the door sills, while the doors are crowned by 21-inch alloy wheels in a 5-hole or multi-spoke design, and, moving along the side, we see the light-coloured fabric roof equipped with acoustic insulation. At the rear, a specific bumper has also been fitted, with its bespoke diffuser, a light unit bearing the Maybach logo and a double air outlet located behind the seats.

For the interior of the SL 680 Monogram Series, the chosen upholstery is sustainably tanned white Napa leather as the main theme, present on the door panels, centre console and seats, the latter also featuring a new floral design, while the backrests are presented in galvanised finish with chrome inserts. All of this is complemented by elements or inserts in stainless steel, such as on the steering wheel, pedals and door sills, as well as exclusive Maybach animations for the instrument cluster and the infotainment system.

All this luxury is, moreover, backed by an engine setup designed to let this model unleash all its sportiness, making it the most powerful Maybach. Under its bonnet sits a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 585 CV and 800 Nm of torque, managed through the 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels thanks to the 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system. Finally, for greater manoeuvrability and safety, it comes equipped as standard with rear-axle steering. With all this, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h.
